LG has announced its glasses-free 3D smartphone, the Optimus 3D Max, is coming to select European markets.
The device sports a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, a 4.3-inch 3D WVGA display with Corning Gorilla Glass 2 and two 5-megapixel cameras on the back (for 3D photo and video recording) as well as VGA camera on the front.
It’s based on Android 2.3 and has 1 GB of internal memory and 8 GB of storage, further expandable via MicroSD cards.
As far as unique features go, the Optimus 3D Max has several — for example, a 3D hot key on the side of the device makes it easy to switch between 3D and 2D mode. The device also includes a 3D converter which can convert 2D content from Google Earth, Maps and other mapping apps into 3D.
Finally, it has a 3D video editor which allows for 3D video editing on the device in real time.
The device will first be available in Germany; the price hasn’t been announced yet.
